Residential Care Plan
Children and youth receiving care in residential facilities constitute the smallest percentage of New York City’s foster care population. ACS’s plan for residential care is important to all agencies contemplating participating in the child welfare system because these programs represent an important element in the continuum of care. The shared goal of all involved in the program is that residential placement be limited to those requiring the intensive services available at these facilities. It is also expected that care be provided for as short a period of time as possible and that the appropriate linkages exist for foster boarding or preventive service programming.
