Sanctuary®
The Sanctuary Model® represents a trauma-informed method for creating or changing an organizational culture in order to more effectively provide a cohesive context within which healing from psychological and social traumatic experience can be addressed.
The Sanctuary Model®, a trauma informed treatment program, responding to the growing body of knowledge on childhood trauma as critically important (Sanctuary® Institute).
The Sanctuary Model® is being implemented by grants from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) by five residential care agencies statewide of which four are serving New York City children.
